school life
Conclusion
You could see many differences throughout the years.
For example first the girls and boys were separated in schools and now we have mixed classes all together. Most grandparent went to religious school were they were very strict about religion. Over the years it changed because our parent also went to religious school but there weren’t extra hours for your religion which the grandparents did have. Religion is one of the major differences over the years.
Our generation is so developed we don’t have the white classrooms with books filled up to the ceiling.
We have techboards, I pads, phones etc.... The only thing which stayed the same was the respect everybody had for the teacher. Another thing which we noticed was the bond the teacher had with the student.
In the time of our grandparent they saw the teacher as a second parent and they had a really good connection.
In the time of our parent it changed they were just students and teachers no bond no connection.
So almost everything changed over the time which is reasonable because humans develop their brains and over a time they changed their vision over the world.
Our conclusion on the main question: Do students have to work harder to be successful at school nowadays than at the time your grandparents/parents were teenagers?
I think the pressure on students has changed pretty drastically. Of course we are expected to make our homework and learn for the tests, which our parents and grandparents also had to do. But the pressure has eased in a way that students nowadays don’t have as much respect or listen as much to teachers as they did back in the day. And teachers don’t get exceptionally mad at us these days as they did years ago when teachers were really strict. I think this gives students a sense that they can get away with not making their homework and ends up in them spending time on something else instead of homework. We of course can’t give the most truthful answer to this questions since even though we have our interview results there are still many similarities between us and our other generations. We think all these different generations had to work hard to achieve their goal and that goal is different for everyone.
