MAIN RESEARCH QUESTION:
Are the relations between men and women changed with reference to education, roles and opportunities?
To answer this question we first need to compare the main result of our interviews and the interviews of our Indian peers. The main result is that the educations, roles and oppurtunities between men and women has definitely changed over the years. What has changed over the years? Decades ago it was normal for women to be a stay-ate-home mom and that the men worked to provide for their family. It was also normal to go to a “house hold” school, whereas the men started to work right after they were done with school. It’s very different now, everyone is considered to be equal, so everyone has the change at a good education like everyone else. The opportunities between men and women has also changed over the years because women can currently do the same things men can.
The relations between men and women regarding education, roles and opportunities has drastically changed over the years. Their education really changed for the good over the years. Decades ago it was normal for women to sit at home and help their mother or girls had to get married after a few years of education whereas boys were given the right to work.
This really changed of the years, because every girls now has the right to get education. The opportunities also drastically changed, because the first women were destined to get married and take care of their children while the men worked. Nowadays women are less pushed to get married and have more opportunities regarding to work.
What are the main similarities/differences?
The main similarity between our results and theirs is the roles and education. Regarding roles it changed the same way, from women being a stay-at-home mom to it being normal for women to work. Regarding the education, it wasn't really common for women to go to an university etc. but nowadays its really normal for women to got to an university. The main differences between our results is that, although it was common for women in the Netherlands to stay at home, some of them still worked. But in India almost every woman stayed at home at took care of their husband and children.
